WHAT IS A HUMAN PROJECT
This project was done in my Depaul Capstone class, which is a class that all seniors are required to take. The class is 20 weeks long, and the students are allowed to do one project on any topic they’d like. I chose to explore the question of, “What is a human?” Throughout the 20 weeks of this class I went around asking friends, family, and especially strangers the question of “What is a human?”, and recorded their responses in my notes. I asked over 70 people this question, and met so many interesting humans along the way. I took each person’s response and used Midjourney AI to generate a human-like portrait of them based off of their answer. I then gathered each person’s portrait and answer, and designed a book around it. The final project was presented in the Design Museum of Chicago, and held there over a weekend for the public to view. I plan on continuing this project outside of my education, because of the inner passion I found while working on this project.
